To apply for this program, you should have an intermediate or conversational level of English to be able to understand the members of the family you will be living with. It’s a great opportunity for those who want to fully immerse themselves in the culture, as this exchange program will allow you to practice English daily, learn about Australian family customs, celebrations, and their way of life.

This program is perfect for individuals who enjoy spending time with children and have no problem helping with household tasks like washing dishes, folding clothes, vacuuming, or organizing toys. You will feel at home since you don’t have to worry about accommodation or food, only focusing on studying and helping for 3 to 4 hours per day after your English classes. If you apply for this program, you will need to follow the rules set by the hosting family, which mostly involve house entry regulations, arrival times, and fulfilling your duties. It is also important to have a driver’s license, although it’s not mandatory for the program. However, some families may prefer a demi pair who can pick up the children from school or take them to extracurricular activities such as swimming, soccer, tennis, etc.

Once you have decided to start the demi pair program, you will need to fill out an application form that will be sent to your email. After the program director reviews your application, you will be contacted for an interview to get to know you and your profile better. After this interview, the director will inform us if you are accepted or not for the program. Once you are accepted, you will need to make the payment to AVANTI’s account, and you will start the process with Priceless Exchange, who will review your profile to find your perfect family. Once you have a host family, you can purchase your flight ticket without worrying about accommodation or meals since there will be a family waiting for you with open arms when you arrive in Australia. The day after arriving in Australia, you will need to apply for a certificate called the Blue Card, which is a permit issued by the government to work with children. You can apply for it as a volunteer without any cost, and for the cities of Sydney or Melbourne, you can apply while still in your home country.
