In the year 2022, the Australian ambassador to Colombia, Bernard Unkles, said that his country approves approximately 98% of visa applications for Colombians. Now the Department of the Interior of that country announced changes in different visas for students and that it would begin to apply from July 1, 2023.
People who are interested in applying for the subclass 500 student visa or those who already have it and are in that country, should know that the hours allowed to work will go from 40 hours to 48 hours biweekly, as explained by this entity in the statement : “This ensures that student visa holders can focus on obtaining a quality Australian education and qualification, while also being able to support themselves financially, gain valuable work experience and contribute to Australia’s workforce needs.”
In addition, as of July 1, people who have a student visa and who have completed their studies in ‘Bachelor’, ‘Honours’, ‘Masters’ or even Doctoral programs may apply to extend their stay in the country until for 2 years. These extensions apply to the specific industries of healthcare, education, engineering, and agriculture.
